Tom Kreller specializes in bankruptcy and corporate reorganization law and has represented debtors, lenders, equity holders, committees and acquirors in bankruptcy cases, loan restructurings and out-of-court workouts.
Mr. Kreller's significant debtor representations have included: American Restaurant Group, Bugle Boy Industries, MedPartners Provider Network, Meris Laboratories, Bumble Bee Seafoods, Decorative Home Accents, First Capital Holdings, Maguire Thomas Partners, Merisel, Taxi Systems, Inc., Liquor Barn and Standard Brands Paint Company.
Mr. Kreller's significant representations of official creditors committees have included the official committees in the Eagle Picher, National Equipment Services, Inc, McLeodUSA, DIVA Systems, Sun World International, Assisted Living Concepts and GST Telecommunications chapter 11 cases.
Mr. Kreller's significant representations of ad hoc creditors committees and other significant creditor representations have included: ad hoc bondholder committees in the restructurings of Trump Casino Holdings, Brown Jordan International, Falcon Products, Nextel International, Jackson Products and Knology; Cerberus Capital Management, in its capacity as co-chair of the creditors committee in the WorldCom chapter 11 case and in connection with its acquisition of General Motors Acceptance Corp. and its potential acquisition of Delphi Corp.; UBS, as agent for first and second lien lenders to Nellson Nutraceuticals; a steering committee of senior lenders and, subsequently, CIT as agent to the senior lenders to EH/Transeastern LLC; The Anschutz Corporation and Oaktree Capital Management as acquirors in the Regal Cinemas and Edwards Theatres chapter 11 cases; Oaktree Capital Management in its capacity a chair of the creditors committee for, and the acquiror of, Classic Communications in its Chapter 11 case; and QUALCOMM in its capacity as creditor and/or potential acquiror in a number of restructuring matters.
Mr. Kreller was admitted to the California bar in 1992 following his graduation from the School of Law (J.D. 1992) and Anderson Graduate School of Management (M.B.A. 1992) at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to entering the J.D./M.B.A. program at UCLA, Mr. Kreller was a Certified Public Accountant with the Chicago office of Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney).
