Mr. Hill is Office Managing Member of the Chicago office and suburban Chicago offices, and most recently served as a Practice Group Leader of the Litigation Department.
Mr. Hill concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, professional liability litigation, product liability litigation and other business litigation. He represents banks, finance companies and other public and private companies in contractual and credit disputes. In the commercial area, he has represented clients in a wide variety of contractual disputes, as well as Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims, securities litigation, lease disputes and construction disputes.
In the professional liability area, he has represented a variety of professionals, including attorneys, physicians, architects and engineers, in malpractice suits. He has also represented insurance companies and insurance brokers in various business litigation matters.
Experience
Since joining the Chicago office in 1987, Mr. Hill has engaged in a general litigation practice. He has been the trial attorney and gone to verdict in more than 25 jury trials, as well as bench trials and arbitrations. He has handled appeals before the State Appellate Courts in Illinois and New York. He has also participated in appeals before the Federal Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit located in Chicago. He co-authored an article describing a case for a lender in which a bankruptcy court issued a decision that significantly reduced the risk of financing insurance premiums of financially troubled companies.
