President of the F.D. Rich Company, Thomas is a graduate of the School of Management at Boston Univeristy where he served as President of the Class of 1980. A native of Stamford, Connecticut, Mr. Rich graduated from Westhill High School where he served two terms as the President of the Class of 1976. Mr. Rich started his career in real estate in 1980 on Boston's Beacon Hill, where he was engaged in converting historic buildings to condominiums. In 1982 he joined the F.D. Rich Company as an Assistant Project Manager and over the next several years was engaged in developing a variety of housing, office and retail development projects in Stamford, CT. Between 1984 and 1990 having been promoted to Vice President and later Sr. Vice President, Mr. Rich oversaw the leasing and marketing aspects of the companies portfolio of over 3 million square feet of office and retail space. Concurrently, he was responsible for spearheading the companies planned geographic expansion. In that capacity, he founded the F.D. Rich Company of Boston, which was involved with the development of over 4 million square feet of a variety of project types. The most significant effort involved the creation of and securing the approvals for, a 2 million square foot mixed use development called Commonwealth Center. This project contained two 40 story office towers, a 400 room Hyatt Regency hotel and a 100,000 sf retail galleria, the restoration of the historic Paramount Theatre and five levels of underground parking. Since 1990, Mr. Rich has developed a variety of real estate projects in Fairfield County, CT. He resides in Stamford, CT, where he is actively involved with the community. He is the Founder and President of Castlecares, Inc., an entity which raises operating funds and awareness for local Children's and Art's organizations. He currently servers on the Board of Directors of Stamford Theatre Works and the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford. |
