Tom Tuytschaevers is an associate at Bromberg & Sunstein, where he focuses his practice in patent preparation and prosecution matters, product clearance, portfolio development and evaluation, and licensing. Tom also has experience in litigation discovery, transaction due diligence, and commercial matters including sales terms and conditions, indemnities, warranties and non-disclosure agreements. Experience Prior to joining Bromberg & Sunstein, Tom was a member of the legal department at a multi-billion dollar semiconductor company where he counseled senior management and technical staff on a variety of patent, copyright, mask work, trademark and trade secret matters. Tom was also responsible for a variety of commercial matters, such as the negotiation and drafting of license agreements, sales terms and conditions, custom product development agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, and was heavily involved in due diligence and licensing related to a number of divestitures. In that position, Tom also traveled extensively to meet with engineers to elicit invention disclosures, and to educate the worldwide sales force on the company ethics policy. Prior to law school, Tom worked as an engineer at a defense contractor where he focused on missile guidance radar design, and also developed test station hardware and software. Tom developed the curriculum for and teaches in the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property program at Northeastern University’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Professional and Community Involvement Tom is a volunteer mediator in the Sheldon W. Rothstein Mediation and Conciliation Program in the Dedham District Court. Tom has presented at seminars at the Boston Bar Association. Bar and Court Admissions Tom is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Tom is admitted in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of Rhode Island, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. |
