Thomas Chen is senior vice president, Nutrition International Operations. He previously served as vice president, Asia and Latin America, Abbott Nutrition International and as vice president, Pacific, Asia and Africa Operations, Abbott International. He joined Abbott in January 1988 as general manager for Abbott Taiwan for the company's international division. He has held several management positions in Asia for the same division. In 1996, he was promoted to regional director, Greater China. He was appointed to his current role in April of 2006.

Before joining Abbott, Chen held several senior management positions at Cyanamid.

Chen serves on the advisory boards of the Abbott Chinese Culture Network and the Executive Talent and Leadership Development, and on the board of directors for the Clara Abbott Foundation. He also serves on the United Way of Lake County "Success by Six" committee, an initiative to promote early education for children.

He earned a bachelor's degree in international business from National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.
