Thomas practices in all aspects of civil litigation, primarily in federal courts. He concentrates on environmental litigation, appellate litigation and litigation involving banks or other financial institutions or accountants. Thomas in addition frequently represents churches and other religious institutions in litigation and as a legal advisor generally, giving him extensive experience in First Amendment issues and other legal issues that often confront nonprofit institutions. In conjunction with Tom Kline, he also represents institutions and individuals who seek to recover stolen art and cultural property.
