Thomas D. Hickey is Vice President and General Counsel for Cyren Call Communications Corporation. Mr. Hickey has more than 20 years of diverse legal experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to Cyren Call, Mr. Hickey was Vice President & Deputy General Counsel of Sprint Nextel Corporation, where he managed the team chosen as Best Law Department in the Washington area in November 2005 by the regional in-house bar association. Prior to the Nextel merger with Sprint, Mr. Hickey founded the Nextel Communications’ legal department and managed its growth from 1 to 150 employees. At Nextel, Mr. Hickey successfully managed all aspects of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing and compliance matters. He created and managed the intellectual property program and provided extensive corporate governance counseling, corporate secretary support and compliance work for the Board of Directors. He supervised compliance investigations, helped create new or updated corporate codes of conduct and successfully led legal support for all procurement efforts, real estate leases and sales agreements at Nextel for 14 years. Before joining Nextel, Mr. Hickey was an attorney in the telecommunications section of Jones Day. Mr. Hickey’s prior experience also included work at The White House, the FCC Chairman’s Office and Congressman Michael Oxley’s office. Mr. Hickey holds a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Washington University. A member of the Virginia, District of Columbia and Wisconsin bars, Mr. Hickey is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Hickey has served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association since 2003. |
