Professional Experience
Chief, Audiology Clinic, Army Audiology and Speech Center (AASC), Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. 1997-present.
Responsibilities include administration, management, and supervision of a large audiology clinic (12,000+ patient visits annually), providing inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services. Determine approaches and methods necessary to carry out clinical mission of AASC, including budgeting and utilization of resources. Direct the professional development of 10+ staff members. Serve as project officer to the Director, AASC. Supervise and coordinate doctoral (Au.D.) externships. Instruct resident physicians in amplification, geriatrics, and medical audiology. Provide diagnostic and treatment services, primarily to V.I.P. patients of the National Capitol Area (e.g., cabinet members, senators, members of congress, general and flag officers).

Responsibilities include teaching HESP 635 (Aural Rehabilitation) and advising doctoral students.

Responsibilities included providing full-range of hearing and balance diagnostic and treatment services to patients of all ages. Testing included diagnostic hearing evaluations; hearing aid selection, verification and validation; auditory brainstem response; otoacoustic emissions; electrocochleography; electronystagmography; and inpatient and outpatient aural rehabilitation. Provided lectures to medical residents in auditory brainstem response testing, medical audiology, and otoacoustic emissions. Supervised Clinical Fellowship Year externs, graduate students (practicums), and medical technicians.
