Mr. Strange is a 34-year veteran of the professional services industry and recently retired from KPMG LLP where he served as vice chair and managing partner of KPMG’s US audit practice from 1996 to 2002. During this period he also served as the global managing partner of the audit practice and was a member of KPMG International’s executive committee. Mr. Strange foresaw the importance of separating consulting from the tax and audit functions in an audit firm and is also credited with institutionalizing strong central control of KPMG's professional practices policies and procedures during an important time in the accounting profession. Prior to 1996 Mr. Strange held several management positions within KPMG LLP. He began his career at KPMG LLP in 1968. Mr. Strange joined BearingPoint's board of directors in April 2003. Mr. Strange also serves on the board of directors of Compass Bancshares Inc. (NASDAQ: CBSS) a financial services company Group 1 Automotive Inc. (NYSE: GPI) a Fortune 500 automotive retailer and New Jersey Resources Corporation (NYSE: NJR) a Fortune 1000 energy-services company. |
