An unrestricted free agent who signed a two year-deal with the Cardinals on 3/23/07 after spending three seasons in Cleveland; spent first four years of his career with New Orleans, who drafted him the fourth round of the 2000 Draft..

Has blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher five times in his seven years in the league, including running backs Deuce McCallister and Ricky Williams in New Orleans and Reuben Droughns in Cleveland.

Begins his second go-round in the desert, having been a linebacker and fullback at Arizona State.

Pro Career:

Signed by the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent on 3/23/07. Originally drafted by New Orleans in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft, was signed by Cleveland as an unrestricted free agent on March 11, 2004.

2006: In his third season with the Browns, appeared in all 16 regular season games, including eight starts while also contributing as a key member of the special teams kickoff return unit started in the regular season opener vs. NO (9/10) started @ Oak (10/1) and hauled in three receptions for nine yards and helped block for RB Reuben Droughns, who rushed for 100 yards helped block for Droughns to rush for 125 yards rushing and one touchdown vs. NYJ (10/29) started @ Atl (11/12); vs. Cin (11/26); vs. KC (12/3) in the regular season finale @ Hou (12/31), started and carried one time for one yard and had two receptions for seven yards.

2005: Played in all 16 regular season games with 15 starts while helping block for Droughns, who rushed for 1,232 yards and become the first Browns running back since 1985 to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season started and helped Droughns rush for 100 yards on 19 carries vs. Det (10/23) @ Hou (10/30), helped the offense pile up 156 yards on the ground had two receptions for eight yards vs. Ten (11/6) while helping lead the running game to 169 yards rushing, including Droughns’ second 100-yard contest of the season recorded a six-yard touchdown catch and helped Droughns rush for a season-high 166 yards on 30 carries vs. Mia (11/20) helped Droughns top the 1,000-yard mark vs. Jax (12/4) did not get the start vs. Pit (12/24) due to the flu; however, did play and had two carries for three yards.

2004: Signed with Cleveland as a free agent as the Browns incorporated a fullback into the offensive scheme started in the opener vs. Bal (9/12); @ Dal (9/19); @ NYG (9/26) started vs. Was (10/3), rushing once for four yards and had two receptions for 20 yards was the lead blocker as William Green rushed for 115 yards on 25 carries vs. Cin (10/17) was part of an offensive attack vs. Phi (10/24) that established a season-high 165 yards rushing helped Lee Suggs rush for 105 yards vs. SD (12/19) started @ Mia (12/26) and helped Suggs rush for 143 yards in the regular season finale @ Hou (1/2), helped Suggs rush for 131 yards on 26 carries.

2003: Appeared in 15 games for the Saints with 10 starts as the lead blocker for Deuce McAllister, who finished second in the NFC in rushing started the first six games of the season: @ Sea (9/7); vs. Hou (9/14); @ Ten (9/21); vs. Ind (9/28); @ Car (10/5); vs. Chi (10/12) started games @ TB (11/2); @ Phi (11/23); vs. TB (12/7); vs. Dal (12/28) appeared in each game during a nine-game streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games by McAllister

2002: For the first time in his career played in all 16 regular season games for New Orleans, including eight starts helped Saints post 118 rushing yards in opener @ TB (9/8) while also recording three receptions for six yards aided McAllister's 121-yard rushing effort @ Was (10/13) had four runs for a season-high 12 yards @ Bal (12/8) had one reception for 10 yards vs. Min (12/15).

2001: Rebounded from off-season back surgery to continue his role as New Orleans’ blocking back, appearing in 14 games with nine starts recorded two carries for four yards @ StL (10/28) established a career-long with a 12-yard reception @ SF (11/11) recorded the first TD reception of career, a four-yard scoring grab vs. Car (12/2) added a four-yard TD reception vs. StL (12/17) inactive for the final two contests due to a back injury.

2000: In his rookie season with New Orleans, appeared in 14 games with nine starts while becoming one of the top blocking backs in the league by the end of his rookie season hauled in three receptions for 18 yards @ Chi (10/8) in his first action carrying the ball, had four carries for 22 yards vs. Car (10/15) recorded four carries for a season-high 42 yards vs. Oak (11/19) had a season-high six carries for 20 yards @ StL (11/26) had six carries for 18 yards @ SF (12/10) before suffering a back injury inactive for the final two games of the season and both playoff games due to a back injury.

College:

Served as the blocking back for J.R. Redmond at Arizona State in 1999 after making the switch from linebacker had 22 carries for 129 yards (5.7 avg.) with one TD as a Sun Devil, adding 11 receptions for 95 yards played linebacker in 10 games in 1998, posting six tackles majored in psychology and criminal justice.

Full name Terrelle Vernon Smith a 1996 graduate of Canyon Springs (Moreno Valley, CA) High School, where he played both running back and linebacker rushed for 1,236 yards on 186 carries with 19 TDs and collected 87 solo tackles, caused eight fumbles and had three interceptions as a senior lettered in football, basketball and track has five older brothers and three younger brothers born March 12, 1978, in West Covina, CA has three children, Terrelle Jr., Jayda and Tylor.
