Ms. Shank has served as President and CEO of Siebert Brandford Shank & Co., LLC, since its inception in October 1996. She is a founder of the firm, co-owner and member of the Board of Directors.A twenty-year veteran of the industry, Ms. Shank has led the financings for large scale projects for a variety of issuers, including the cities of New York, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, among others; the counties of Wayne, Michigan, Prince George’s County, Maryland, Cook County, Illinois; and the states of Ohio and Connecticut. Ms. Shank has structured a variety of types of transactions including redevelopment projects, water and sewer projects, convention centers, sport facilities, jails and education facilities.Prior to her public finance career, Ms. Shank was an engineer with General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division, where she worked as a Design Engineer on various design projects.Ms. Shank is a graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a Masters of Business Administration in Finance, and the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.Ms. Shank is active in various industry and civic organizations. Ms. Shank is a member of the Board of SIFMA, recently served a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Bond Market Association, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, the self regulatory organization charged with the primary rulemaking authority for the municipal securities activities of broker-dealers. Ms. Shank spearheaded the formation of the Detroit Summer Finance Institute, a summer internship program which introduces high school students to the world of high finance. Ms. Shank serves as a Board member of CAMERA, the Caribbean American Mission for Education Research in Action, which links educators and educational institutions to develop and implement programs that support, augment and strengthen the capacity and capabilities of educational systems in the Caribbean and the region that includes Philadelphia, the District of Columbia and New York. In addition, Ms. Shank serves as Vice President of the founding board of WAVE, an initiative to assist disadvantaged residents pay their water utility bills. Ms. Shank was also a founding member of the Michigan Women in Finance and is a member of the Board of the Detroit Institute of Arts.Ms. Shank was recently honored by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the 50 Most Influential Black Women in Business (February 2006 Issue), and as one of the 75 Most Powerful Blacks on Wall Street (October 2005 and October 2006). She has also been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of the 40 outstanding leaders under 40, as the National Entrepreneur of the Year by the Madame CJ Walker Center and by the Women’s Informal Network (Detroit and Wayne County) as one of Metropolitan Detroit’s Most Influential Black Women.Mr. Brandford serves on several boards including the Board of Councilors for the University of Southern California’s School of Policy, Planning and Development; the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Leadership Advisory Board; and the San Gabriel Boy Scouts of America among others. He is also very active in various school mentoring and academics scholarship programs at the K-12 level.
