Susan believes in making our hospital better at every level, from bedside care to enhancing processes and procedures.
She demonstrates an important Everyday Excellence attribute expertise. Our Everyday Excellence culture encourages us to take every opportunity to share our knowledge with others. It encourages us to be experts in our field and life-long learners. And it encourages innovation.
Susan’s co-workers say that she takes an active role in staff education. She personally advocated for and took responsibility for many educational programs. She researched and wrote the new version of a quick reference book for the ED nurses. She gives lectures to participants of emergency nursing courses and she organizes topics for monthly continuing education programs for ER nursing.
She is always in a teaching mode, mentoring new ER nurses. Susan is a registered nurse, a board-certified nurse practitioner and a flight trauma nurse.
Susan also makes just as good of an impression with patients. One patient’s family member recently wrote:
