Susan R. Lichtenstein is corporate vice president and general counsel of Baxter International Inc.
Prior to joining Baxter in March 2005 Ms. Lichtenstein was a partner with McDermott Will & Emery. She joined the law firm after having served as general counsel to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
Previously Ms. Lichtenstein gained corporate experience in the telecommunications industry where she served as general counsel and corporate secretary for both Ameritech Corporation and Tellabs Inc. She also served as deputy corporation counsel for the City of Chicago after having spent a decade with Schiff Hardin & Waite where she was a partner working on complex litigation corporate counseling and internal investigations with particular emphasis on regulated industries.
Ms. Lichtenstein is on the board of StarFarm Productions Inc. She also serves on the boards of numerous civic and philanthropic organizations including the Lyric Opera of Chicago Facing History and Ourselves Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute and Temple Sholom of Chicago. She is a member of The Chicago Network and is a steering committee member of the Senior Businesswomen's Forum. A frequent speaker on corporate governance issues law department management and women in business Ms. Lichtenstein was co-founder and co-chair of the Women in Business Politics and Powers symposium series.
Ms. Lichtenstein received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from Northwestern University Law School where she was a member of the editorial board for the Northwestern University Law Review. |
