Susan is the Vice President, Executive Development for GE. In this capacity, she is responsible for talent identification, leadership development, and succession planning for all GE executives worldwide.
Susan joined GE in 1979 on the Human Resource Management Program in GE Appliances with assignments in organization and staffing in Louisville, Kentucky and employee relations at Columbia, Maryland. In 1981, Susan became the Manager, Union Relations, Central Air Conditioning Department, in Trenton, New Jersey, which was sold by GE to the Trane Company in 1982. She transferred to Tyler, Texas with Trane as Professional Relations Manager and then returned to GE in 1984 as Manager, Non-exempt Relations for GE Plastics in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Susan was appointed Manager, Human Resources, Worldwide Marketing/Product Management for GE Plastics in October 1986. In 1989, she transferred to Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands, to manage human resources for GE Plastics' manufacturing sites in Europe. In 1990, Susan moved to Fairfield, Connecticut, as the Manager, Human Resources Staffing and Development. In September 1991, she was promoted to Manager, Human Resources, GE Plastics, Americas in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She moved to Louisville, Kentucky in October, 1993 to become the Senior Human Resources Manager for GE Appliances. Susan was appointed a Company Officer in January 1997. She became the Executive Vice President, Human Resources for NBC in June 2000, and moved to her current role in June, 2001.
Susan graduated from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, with a BA in English Literature in 1975 and from the University of Virginia with a Master of Education in 1978. She is married and has one daughter. |
