Susan Gallagher is a Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group a $500 million management consulting company. Susan is responsible for the firm's 600 person Chicago office and is responsible for driving growth nationally in the legal businesses at Huron. She is one of the 25 founding Managing Directors of the company. Susan is also responsible for creating and leading the company's national civic and community service program called Huron Helping Hands.
Professional Experience
From the company's inception to September 2006 Susan served as the Head of Strategic Development and served on the company's executive management team. She was responsible for building the strategic development function at Huron where she designed and implemented a marketing and sales program to support the fast growth of the business. Susan played a key role in developing the strategies to initiate and sustain relationships with clients and legal counsel and to develop and communicate Huron's messages to its markets.
Susan is a recognized nationally in legal markets. She has assisted counsel in complex litigation issues involving financial matters damages and fraud. On more than 60 engagements she advised legal counsel on the damages aspects of these issues as well as managed the information associated with major cases. Throughout her 26+ years in professional services Susan led the investigation teams that uncovered one of the largest paper trading schemes in the United States. She also provided analysis on international inter-company pricing disputes; calculated potential damages in a trade secret cases; and identified the features and impact of intricate fraud schemes. Susan has served companies in a variety of industries.
In the 1990s Susan served as the head of client relationship development for Arthur Andersen's Chicago office where she restructured the marketing function to align it with the various business units. The resulting strategic focus also enabled cost savings of 50 percent. While with Andersen Susan participated in a landmark initiative to attract and retain women in professional services. She is the founder of the Senior Businesswomen's Forum a Chicago organization.
