Sue Ortenstone is senior vice president of Human Resources and Administration for El Paso Corporation. In her current role, Ortenstone oversees corporate Human Resources activities as well as the IT, Facilities and Real Estate functions for the company.
Previous positions held by Ortenstone include chief executive officer of Epic Energy, an El Paso joint venture, and president of El Paso Gas Services Company, units of El Paso Corporation. In her capacity with Epic, Ortenstone was responsible for El Paso Corporation’s joint venture Australian pipeline company. Prior to that, Ortenstone was responsible for El Paso Gas Services Company’s strategy, market analysis, and new business development in North America.
Ortenstone began her career with Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, where she held various pipeline positions. She transferred to Tenngasco Corporation, a new division of Tenneco Inc., and worked with the engineering construction group designing and building pipeline facilities. She was promoted to account executive with Tenneco Gas, was later named manager of gas supply, and eventually moved to strategic planning. She has held various management positions with the company since that time.
Ortenstone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin. She is a registered professional engineer. |
