Susan Lloyd became vice president of Respironics' Asthma and Allergy Division in 1999. Prior to joining the company, she served as vice president of sales and marketing for Healthdyne Technologies since 1994 and for HealthScan Products, Inc. since 1990. From 1990 to 1999, she developed the asthma and allergy business's first direct sales organization, established a national distribution network, negotiated several co-marketing agreements, introduced three new peak flow meter brands and entered the MDI spacer market. Lloyd joined Apothecary Publishing Company in Boston in 1971 as a production manager for two monthly pharmacy trade journals. In 1973, she became a sales representative in the New England area for Lemmon Pharmacal Company. She joined Becton Dickinson and Co. in 1974 as a sales representative responsible for sales of specialty radiology and cardiology products and training general-line hospital representatives. Four years later, she was promoted to administrative assistant to the director of trade sales where she served as the liaison between the inside sales organization, marketing and the field sales force. In 1979, Lloyd became the associate product manager for Becton Dickinson's Technique Products line where she was recognized for increasing sales by 43% while increasing margins to over 70%. One year later, she was appointed market manager for this group with responsibility for market analysis, planning and implementing marketing strategies, and product line training for sales representatives. Lloyd joined the company's Advanced Business Development Group in 1981 serving as market manager for a newly approved, Class III intravascular occlusion balloon where she managed the submission of a PMA supplement for expanded indications and conducted physician training seminars. In 1984, she was appointed director of intravascular therapy products responsible for the development and growth of the business unit through internal development and acquisition of new technologies. In 1984, she managed the transition of the business unit to the Bard Parker division where she was responsible for a new specialized sales force and national distribution network of surgical specialty distributors. As director of business development for Becton Dickinson's AcuteCare Division in 1986, she focused on integrating the newly acquired Deseret Operating Room Products Division and leading the Division's activities to identify and acquire new technologies and products. Two years later Lloyd became director of marketing for this Division. Lloyd earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Boston University. |
