Surendra is a Managing Director with Sequoia Capital India. Sequoia Capital India has been formed with WestBridge Capital Partners. He serves on the board of Brainvisa, Bharti Telesoft, July Systems and is an observer on the boards of ICICI OneSource, Times Internet and Zenasis. Previously, Surendra was the co-founder and CEO of MeraNet, an application service provider offering contact management solutions to wireless service providers and portals. Prior to co-founding MeraNet, he worked with the Pentium Pro Design Group at Intel, Portland and the Semiconductor Product Group at Motorola. He was part of the team which setup Motorola's Semiconductor Design Centre in Gurgaon, India. Surendra also worked with Booz-Allen & Hamilton, a leading management consultancy firm. Surendra is a recipient of the President's Gold Medal at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, where he received his M.B.A. He also holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi as well as an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. Surendra has published several research articles in IEEE Journals and Conference publications and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
