Sudip Banerjee is the President, Enterprise Solutions Division, Wipro Technologies the largest software division of Wipro - with responsibility of global operations.
Sudip started his career in the IT industry in 1979 and joined Wipro in 1983 as one of the founder members of the IT group of the company. His impeccable track record saw him quickly move up the ladder to the position of Regional Manger.
In 1993 he assumed charge as General Manager - Software Products. He was instrumental in starting alliances with software companies like Adobe, Netscape and Macromedia. Under his leadership, the Software Products business grew into an independent division which he headed as Vice President.
In April 1997, Sudip moved as Group Vice President - Human Resources for Wipro Infotech Group. During this stint he was responsible for the Human Resources function for both Domestic and Global operations. He was instrumental in driving organizational changes, leading to the formation of the software services part of Wipro (Wipro Technologies), which today has more than 10,000 people.
From October 1999 until January 2002, Sudip was the Chief Executive Operations & Staffing of Wipro Technologies. His responsibilities included creation and setting up of Development Centres, Resources, Staffing & Training, Administration and Facilities & Infrastructure Management.
Sudip is actively associated with many industry associations like Nasscom, CII, MAIT, etc. He holds a B.A. Hons. in Economics and P.G. Diploma in Management, both from Delhi University. |
