Stuart Schare began his career in the electric industry in 1991 and has since served in a variety of business and policy consulting positions to utilities, trade associations and government entities. A certified commercial building energy auditor (Minnesota Department of Commerce), his recent efforts have focused on evaluating and improving delivery of energy efficiency programs. This work includes on-site audits of commercial and industrial buildings, surveying of end-use customers, and conducting in-depth interviews of major market actors involved in delivery of energy efficiency services, technologies, and building designs. In his work evaluating the financial impacts of utility capital expansion plans and wholesale electric power supply alternatives, Mr. Schare has advised clients on the economic merits of competing options and assisted in the negotiation of final contract terms. Prior to joining Summit Blue, Mr. Schare was a consultant with PA Consulting (formerly Hagler Bailly). As an independent contractor, his clients included the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as several private companies that were creating greenhouse gas "offsets" through investments in renewable energy and energy conservation projects in developing countries. Mr. Schare is the founder and acting chair of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP). He is also a member of AESP's national Energy Services and Technology Committee. He holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and a Master of Public Affairs earned from Indiana University in 1995.
