Dr. Stuart Apfel has served as Elite's Chief Medical Officer since January 2008. Dr. Apfel is founder and president of Parallax Clinical Research a consulting firm established in 2006 that assists biotechnology and small pharmaceutical companies with making the transition from the bench to a clinical development program. In this capacity he has served as a consultant to Elite Pharmaceuticals over the past year. From 2003 to 2006 Dr. Apfel was a senior director of clinical research at DOV Pharmaceuticals Inc.. From 2000 to 2003 Dr. Apfel was a director of clinical research at Purdue Pharma L.P. Dr. Apfel is a board certified neurologist and is currently on faculty as Associate Professor of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Downstate Medical School where he continues to teach. Previously he was a full time faculty member in the departments of Neurology and Neuroscience at Albert Einstein from 1990 to 2000 where his research focused on the application of neurotrophic factors to neurologic disease |
