Mr. Stig Nilsson is a Principal Engineer specializing in electrical and control system issues as they pertain to transmission distribution and utilization of electric energy. He has extensive experience in the design operation and maintenance of AC and high-voltage DC stations as well as with the auxiliary power distribution control and protection systems used in these facilities. Mr. Nilsson has planned and performed equipment installation and commissioning tests for major high-voltage converter systems; has developed operation and maintenance procedures for substation type equipment; and has analyzed numerous power system disturbances and disasters including assessing damages and developing restoration strategies after earthquakes and many other types of equipment failures and malfunctions. He has expertise on supervisory control digital protective relaying systems and on-line equipment monitoring systems and was engaged as an expert auditor to assess the utility industry's readiness for the transitions into the year 2000. |
