A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Stewart graduated from the University of Alabama in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He furthered his education receiving a Juris Doctor in 1973 from Duke University School of Law and, in 1986, received his Masters of Law - Taxation from the University of Alabama's School of Law.
Stewart began the first four years of his career with the law firm of Johnston, Barton, Proctor, Swedlaw & Naff. In 1977, he joined the Public Accounting firm of Dudley, Hopton-Jones, Sims & Freeman, PLLP. Since 2004, Stewart has served as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of the Buffalo Rock Company.
Since 2004, Stewart has served as the Executive Director of the J. Craig & Page T. Smith Scholarship Foundation, Inc. He is one of the original founders of the town of Indian Springs, Alabama where he currently serves as Counsel.
Stewart's hobbies include diving, riding horses and collecting vintage automobiles. |
