Mr. Sommers is a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck's Real Estate Group. Based in the Denver office, he provides legal counsel in a wide range of real estate, corporate and banking transactions. He has extensive experience in representing brownfield redevelopers on projects across the country. In Colorado, Mr. Sommers' real estate transactions include representation of the purchasers and brownfield redevelopers of the Gates Rubber factory site and the old Children's Hospital site in Denver. With respect to greenfields transactions in Colorado, Mr. Sommers' work includes representation of the developer of two 10-story office buildings in Interlocken Business Park in Broomfield and a community hospital in connection with a relocation of the hospital and development of a regional medical campus. Elsewhere, Mr. Sommers' work includes representation of the purchasers and brownfield developers of: a 750 acre site in the New Jersey Meadowlands; a 1000 acre former defense plant in Santa Clarita, California; a 250 acre former automobile plant in Boisbriand, Quebec, Canada; and a 200 acre site in Richmond, California. Mr. Sommers' banking and financing transactions cover a wide array of matters. He has provided borrower/guarantor representation in $146-million New Jersey Economic Development Authority Bonds; lender representation for financing of Telluride, Crested Butte and Copper Mountain ski resorts; borrower representation in the securitization of a leverage lease pool involving nearly $1 billion in cash flows; and borrower representation in a $50-million securitized revolving credit facility. |
