Steve works diligently to meet the needs of debtors, creditors and owners of distressed entities in the manufacturing, telecom and dot-com industries. He helps OEMs by evaluating and restructuring financially distressed tier 1 and 2 suppliers. While serving as CEO and President of a trans-U.S. video over fiber service provider, he restructured a multitude of satellite and fiber lease obligations to move the company towards profitability. He also acted as the primary outside negotiator for the largest creditor in the debt to equity conversion and merger of all subsidiary entities of an Argentinean telecom company. This organization had approximately $1 billion in debt spread over multiple security classes and legal entities. Steve also designed and implemented a divestiture program for approximately sixty underperforming subsidiaries on behalf of a multinational conglomerate. Professional Experience Prior to BBK, Steve had more than six years of treasury, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions experience in the auto industry. His roles at General Motors New York Treasurers Office included Manager of Investor Relations, Manager of Corporate Finance and Senior Analyst of Domestic Finance. Steve spent two years managing the treasury component of General Motor's troubled supplier workout process. During this time period he was responsible for funding and restructuring many entities. Steve led the merger and acquisition activity of automotive, defense and telecom related entities. In this role, he was instrumental in investing in a digital radio satellite concern and the acquisition of a $400 million defense business. Prior to General Motors New York Treasurers Office, Steve was an Analyst for General Motors of Canada. While there, he managed a dual currency cash portfolio in excess of $1 billion and modeled, analyzed and supported budget negotiations for a General Motors-Suzuki Motor Corporation vehicle assembly joint venture. |
