Steven J. Proctor holds a bachelor of science degree in manufacturing from Western Michigan University.
Proctor began his automotive engineering career in 1974 with General Motors in the company’s co-op program. During his 20 years at GM Proctor’s experience spanned technical positions with increasing responsibility in product and industrial engineering production and material management at the Saginaw Division. Proctor moved into sales as a sales engineer with GM’s Steering Systems Business Unit. He was later appointed sales account manager for GM's Final Drive and Forge business unit.
Proctor joined AAM in March 1994 serving as manager GM Programs. In June 1995 he was named director General Motors Programs and in June 1996 he was appointed director Strategic Planning. Proctor was named president and chief operating officer of AAM do Brasil in 1999 and returned to the United States in 2003 when he was named executive director Driveline Sales & Marketing in September 2003. Proctor was appointed to his current position in June 2004. |
