Steven J. Malcolm was named chairman of Williams in May 2002 CEO in January 2002
and president and chief operating officer of Williams in September 2001. In 1998 he
was named president and CEO of Williams Energy Services. Malcolm was named senior
vice president and general manager of Midstream Gas & Liquids for Williams Energy
Services in 1996.
He served as senior vice president and general manager of Gathering & Processing
for Williams Field Services from 1994-96. Prior to that Malcolm was senior vice
president and general manager of the Mid-Continent region Williams Field Services.
He served as vice president of Gas Management and Supply from 1989 to 1993 and
director of gas management from 1986-89 for Williams Natural Gas Company.
Malcolm joined Williams in 1984 as director of business development Williams Natural
Gas Company. Prior to joining Williams he worked for Cities Gas Company in refining
marketing and transportation services.
Education
Malcolm graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1970 with a bachelor’s
in civil engineering. He has also attended advanced management training courses at
Northwestern University.
Industry/Community Leadership
Malcolm sits on the boards of the Tulsa Community Foundation YMCA St. John Medical
Center Boy Scouts of America Indian Nations Council University of Tulsa Board of
Trustees Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce and Tulsa Educare. He also serves on the
YMCA Executive Committee the University of Tulsa Building & Grounds and Athletic
Committees the board of the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition and is a former
board member of the Gas Processors Association. Malcolm is also a member of The
Business Roundtable National Association of Corporate Directors Oklahoma Business
Roundtable the Domestic Petroleum Council the National Petroleum Council the 25 Year
Club of the Petroleum Industry and is a former member of the National Energy Services
Association.
Speaking Experience
Malcolm has more than 20 years of experience as a public speaker and presents on a
broad range of energy and energy policy related topics. He has spoken at numerous
analyst conferences industry corporate and philanthropic events.
