Steve has expertise in operations/supply chain performance improvement and organizational transformation specifically in strategic planning, manufacturing, logistics and procurement. His long-term assignments in Europe and Asia have included senior roles in operations, supply chain management, business process redesign and global integration. He has authored white papers on "Adaptation of Lean Manufacturing in UAW Facilities", "Lean Capacity Planning", "Supplier Capacity Management", and "Collaborative Volume Planning". Steve has also presented at many conferences and associations in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Professional Experience Steve's recent activities for BBK include operations advisory services for corporate and private equity clients seeking operations turnaround, and supply chain design support. His engagements include an automotive lighting supplier in Mexico, an equity acquisition by a major Japanese bank of an electronics manufacturer, a private equity firm support on cold-forming acquisition, and an operations turnaround for a rubber molding company. Prior to BBK, Steve owned an independent consulting firm, and had a long, successful career with General Motors. As Director of Asia Pacific Supply Operations in Australia, his team produced double digit performance improvements in distribution costs and lead-time, material stock-outs, order-delivery lead time and delivery reliability. His team achieved 80% reduction in vehicle damage for international vehicle shipments. As Director of GM's Program Management Office for Global Volume Planning, Steve was responsible for business process development and IT systems prototype for "real-time" forecasting and production allocation. In the late 1990s, Steve was Manager of Supplier Capacity Management for Adam Opel AG in Germany. There he led development and launch of a Supplier Capacity Management process resulting in 92% fewer supplier constraints, and was subsequently adapted globally by GM. Among his other accomplishments at GM, Steve developed GM's Lean Capacity Planning process as the Manager of North American Manufacturing Planning, redesigned the 5 year manufacturing planning process, and facilitated development of GM's Powertrain Family Strategy as Manager of Powertrain Planning.
