Steve Kimball is a Principal with The Chasm Group, having joined the firm in 2007. He is a strategic advisor on accelerating revenue and gross profit growth. He helps CEOs and their leadership teams bring differentiated products, services, and business models to market and execute focused sales strategies.
Before Chasm Group
Steve spent over a decade starting, growing, and reinventing businesses and has hands-on experience launching innovative business models, introducing new products, and acquiring and integrating companies. Steve's last four executive management roles were with Silicon Valley firms and included a start up division within a $500 million company, a venture backed start up, and repositioning of two public companies. Previously, Steve had a successful consulting career advising startups and Fortune 500 firms on sales, marketing, customer service, and information technology.
In his most recent operating role, Steve was General Manager of Interwoven Software's Marketing Solutions division (NASDAQ: IWOV). After assuming leadership of this acquired division, Steve developed and executed a new strategy for growth, repositioned the product, developed new alliances, introduced target account selling, optimized marketing investments, and simplified the sales process and tools. His clients included eight of the top ten of the world’s most valuable brands. He also reestablished growth for Interwoven's flagship product through a worldwide re-launch.
Prior to joining Interwoven, he led worldwide strategic and field marketing organization for TIBCO Software (NASDAQ: TIBX). His team refined TIBCO's growth strategy and optimized marketing and sales investments.
Steve also started a venture backed software and services company, Econvergent, and attracted market-leading clients such as Charles Schwab and Wyndham Hotels.
Prior to starting Econvergent, Steve was a Principal in Aspect Communications' Global Solutions Services division (NASDAQ: ASPT) where he led the sales process for his division on a $15 million contract the largest product and services contract in the company’s history.
Steve began his career as the Program Director for META Group, a strategy and technology advisory firm (now a subsidiary of Gartner Group). He continues to serve as a Director of The Venture Forum and an advisor to the Virginia Council of CEOs.
