Steve Abely joined Bookham in October 2001 as Chief Financial Officer. He brings with him over 20 years experience in senior financial positions in various U.S. technology companies, a good knowledge of US financial markets and a track record in management of rapid growth business environments.
Most recently, Steve has been CFO of Arescom Technology, a private broadband access equipment provider, based in California. From 1994 to 1999, he was first CFO and then President of StorMedia, a component supplier to the disc drive industry, leading its IPO and secondary offering, which raised $210 million and closing $175 million in debt financing arrangements. While at StorMedia, Steve installed the administrative and financial infrastructure enabling StorMedia to triple revenues while establishing four manufacturing sites in the Asia Pacific region with 3,000 employees. He has also negotiated acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and managed divestitures. |
