Stephen Mitchell is the Chief Financial Officer of Mercy Corps, a $250 million global poverty relief and development agency supported by headquarters offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, with 2,700 staff worldwide reaching nearly 10 million people in more than 40 countries. He has 24 years of domestic and international finance experience, and has worked extensively in the private sector for major U.S. financial and public accounting institutions, including U.S. Bank, Zions Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He serves as a Director and Vice-Chair of XacBank, one of Asia's largest and most successful commercial microfinance organizations, and is an advisor on microfinance matters around the world. Mr. Mitchell sits on the boards of various for- profit and not-for-profit organizations, and is an Investment Committee member of Microvest, LLC, an international microfinance investment fund. He received his MBA in Finance from the University of California at Irvine and his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional. |
