Stephen Malinak, Ph.D., Director of Quantitative Research, comes to StarMine from LECG (formerly the Law and Economics Consulting Group) where he built complex financial damages models for major litigation cases and performed valuations of public and private companies. Prior to that, he was a consultant with Strategic Decisions Group, where he started a practice area in commodity trading and risk management while gaining extensive experience in financial analysis, cash flow modeling, price forecasting, and fundamental supply/demand analysis for global markets. Stephen has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Engineering-Economic Systems (EES) from Stanford University and an S.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
