Experience:
Stephen Hood's practice focuses in corporate, securities, infrastructure, project and other finance and cross border mergers and acquisitions. He is experienced in advising lenders and sponsors on project finance and energy corporate finance deals across Latin America. He has worked on several Brazilian IPOs.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Stephen worked for another major global law firm where at various times he ran the firm's Sao Paulo office, its New York office, its Hong Kong office, and, from London its Global Securities Practice. He has been called a "hugely experienced and dedicated practitioner" by Chambers Global 2007, which also states that he has impressed clients with his "excellent legal mind and Thorough, detail-oriented approach that never gets in the way of the bigger picture." Stephen speaks English and Portuguese.
