Steve Bye founded the Denver office of NorthMarq Capital Inc. in March, 1983 when the company was named Northland Mortgage. Under his direction, the Denver Regional office has consistently ranked upon the top production offices in the NorthMarq system, having arranged more than $500 million in average annual transaction volume over the past 10 years and over $9 billion in its 23 year history. He is a member of the NorthMarq Management Council and Production Council and is a past recipient of the President’s Award of Excellence.
From 1980 to 1983, Steve Bye was Assistant Vice President and Manager of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Financial Services in Denver. He held the position of Real Estate Officer for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Denver from 1978 through 1979. He was Manager of Real Estate Appraisal and Staff Underwriting for Verex Assurance Company in Madison, Wisconsin from 1975 through 1978. Prior to that, he held staff appraisal positions for an MAI firm and for First Federal Savings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Steve Bye holds an MBA degree in Real Estate Investment Analysis and Appraisal from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He holds a BBA degree in Real Estate/Urban Land Economics, also from the University of Wisconsin. He has served as an officer for several real estate organizations including the Colorado Mortgage Bankers Association, the Colorado Chapter of ICSC and NAIOP. He has served on the real estate correspondent advisory councils for Nationwide Life Insurance Company, Lincoln National Insurance Company, Allstate Insurance and PPM Finance. He is currently a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, the Burns Counselor Board at the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate/ Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, the NAIOP Capital Markets II Forum, and is a licensed Colorado Real Estate broker. He has authored many articles for various real estate publications and is a frequent speaker for several real estate trade groups and other organizations including NAIOP, CLE International, and the Colorado Association of CPA’s. He has also served on the Planning Commission of the City of Madison, Wisconsin in 1977-1978. |
