Steve has more than 17 years of accounting and consulting experience. He specializes in complex claims and events involving large volumes of data and complex accounting issues. Steve has primarily worked in the telecommunications, consumer products, building products, manufacturing, and high technology industries.
Professional Experience
Prior to working in corporate advisory services, Steve was an auditor for more than four years, where he gained experience in auditing such as accounting for income taxes, and accounting for acquisitions and consolidations.
Most recently, Steve has been involved in two large bankruptcy cases in which he led teams of consultants that assisted clients in the preparation of the required schedules, the reconciliation of claims to the books and schedules, and the analysis of executory contracts.
Representative examples of Stephen's engagement experience include:
Led a team of up to 15 people that assisted the telecommunications company, Worldcom, Inc., in reconciling and resolving more than 38,000 bankruptcy claims filed against 220 debtor companies. Also provided various consulting services, including developing processes for paying claims and assisting in various due diligence projects as they related to the bankruptcy claims.
Led a team that assisted the telecommunications company, Global Crossing Ltd., in reconciling and resolving more than 11,000 bankruptcy claims filed against 80 debtor companies. For the same client, led a team that coordinated the client's process analyzing and assuming or rejecting more than 300,000 executory contracts.
Managed the delivery of claims administration, accounting, financial and data analysis, and project management assistance to a large bankrupt building materials manufacturer and 17 related debtor entities in support of the bankruptcy claims process.
Assisted a large consumer products company design and implement a legal intranet where they shared more than 20 million pages of legal documents among more than 100 law firms.
Managed a large document processing facility that employed more than 300 people. Held responsibility for all operational aspects of the facility.
Managed the implementation of a litigation information management system at a large consumer products company. The system allows hundreds of users across the country to share critical legal information over both a virtual private network and a private wide-area network. The project included development of three web sites, as well as other custom software solutions.
Managed a team of ten consultants assisting one of the world's largest multi-national food manufacturers in a tax dispute involving the valuation of various intangible assets including goodwill and several of the world's best known trademarks.
Assisted clients in numerous litigation cases, including multi-national tax disputes, anti-trust disputes, environmental disputes, and patent disputes.
