Stephen P. Pazan is a senior commercial litigator and business lawyer in the firm's New Jersey office. Mr. Pazan has significant experience as a trial attorney in State and Federal Courts all over the country. He has actually conducted jury trials in four different states and in as many different Federal Courts. In addition to conducting general and complex commercial litigation, he has counseled clients with regard to insurance regulation, renewals and coverage issues, and has instructed and published on insurance issues. Favorite areas of practice include long term disability coverage, COBRA and ERISA, oppressed minority shareholder disputes under New Jersey small business law, and patent litigation. Mr. Pazan received his J.D. from the George Washington University, and his B.A. from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. He is admitted to the Bars of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, five different United States District Courts, and three different US Courts of Appeals. In his early years as an attorney, Mr. Pazan worked for the United States Information Agency in Santiago, Chile and was an assistant D.A. for Nassau County, NY. He speaks Spanish and some Russian. In fact, in 2006, Spector Gadon sponsored Mr. Pazan's attendance on a medical mission to the Mayan people of the Guatemalan Highlands. Mr. Pazan's work is reflected in several published cases concerning insurance law, franchise law, and the Longshore and Jones Acts.
