Stephen P. Giannetti is vice president and group publisher of National Geographic Magazines. He has responsibility for the advertising sales of all the magazines of the National Geographic Society, which include National Geographic, the flagship journal of the Society, as well as National Geographic Adventure, National Geographic Kids and National Geographic Traveler.
Over a 26-year career in publishing, Giannetti has earned wide recognition for building innovative advertising partnerships with a wide array of corporations and advertising agencies. His strategic approach and deep understanding of branding have played key roles in the media initiatives of many notable consumer brands at National Geographic.
Before joining National Geographic in August 2000, he was vice president of Rodale Inc. and publisher of Prevention magazine. Earlier in his career he served as eastern regional manager for Reader's Digest. He entered publishing in 1976 in charge of single-copy distribution of all Time Inc. magazines in the New York metro market.
Giannetti received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa. He is an active member of the American Advertising Federation and The Association of National Advertisers.
He resides in Upper Montclair, N.J., with his wife and two children. |
