Stephen P. Bradley, Ph.D. has served as a Director of the Company since April 1998. Professor Bradley is the William Ziegler Professor of Business Administration and teaches Competitive and Corporate Strategy in the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. A member of the Harvard faculty since 1968, Professor Bradley is also Chairman of Harvard's Executive Program in Competition and Strategy; Building and Sustaining Competitive Advantage. Professor Bradley has written extensively on the telecommunications industry and the impact of technology on competitive strategy. Professor Bradley serves on the board of directors of the Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions and i2 Technologies, Inc.. Professor Bradley received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Yale University in 1963 and M.S. degree and Ph.D. in operations research from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1965 and 1968 respectively. Professor Bradley serves on the Audit Committee and the Governance and Nominations Committee of Ciena's Board of Directors. His term as a Director expires in 2009. |
