Mr. Mayfield began his career with TXI in 1984 as a Cement and Aggregate Sales Representative in East Texas. Holding various positions in the Cement Aggregate and Concrete segment (CAC) Steve was promoted to Unit Vice President of TXI in 1996 and to his current position as Vice President Aggregates in 2000. A native of Wills Point Texas Steve attended the University of North Texas where he received his degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 1982.
Steve was appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association in January 2004. He has maintained membership with the Texas Aggregate and Concrete Association (TACA) while serving on its board from 2001-2004 and on the Executive Committee of the Board from 2003 until 2004. Additionally Steve was a member of Cement Concrete Promotional Council Board (CCPC) from 1996-1999 was President of the Board in 1999.
