Stephen D. Yslas is corporate vice president, secretary and deputy general counsel responsible for the corporate secretary and governance function, supervising general legal activities with particular responsibility for international and certain regulatory matters
Yslas is responsible for the corporate secretary and governance function and will serve as deputy general counsel, supervising general legal activities with particular responsibility for international and certain regulatory matters.
Yslas was appointed corporate vice president and deputy general counsel in 2001. His responsibilities included international, mergers and acquisitions, export control, labor and employment, employee benefits, environmental, antitrust, intellectual property, other federal and state regulatory matters, as well as Washington office legal support. Previously, he served as vice president and assistant general counsel.
He joined Northrop Grumman in 1975 as a corporate counsel and has served as legal counsel for the company's former Aircraft, Defense Systems, Electronics, and Precision Products divisions, and its former architectural systems subsidiary.
Before joining Northrop Grumman, he worked as a member of the legal staffs of the National Labor Relations Board and the Atlantic Richfield Company.
Yslas was a member of the board of the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the Police Memorial Foundation and is a founding member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. He also served as a trustee of Claremont McKenna College. From 1980-90, he served on the City of Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners. He is a member of the American, California and Washington, D.C., bar associations.
Yslas is a Los Angeles native. He received a B.A. in public administration in 1969 and a J.D. in 1972, both from the University of California, Los Angeles.
