Stephen D. Woodworth, CIE's founder, has extensive experience representing, advising and working alongside owners of private and family companies in diverse industries. In his multiple roles he has excelled at designing, implementing and resolving the many operational, strategic, financial and succession challenges faced by the owners of these companies. In addition, as an investment banker, he has successfully closed over 30 merger & acquisition and fund raising transactions (ranging in value from $500,000 to $50 million) for various types of entities --- i.e., public, private, domestic, off-shore, etc. Prior to forming CIE, Steve was a principal of Central Coast Equities, a merger and acquisition firm for middle market companies, and an executive with Security Pacific Corporation, where he held various corporate finance & banking, strategic planning and venture capital responsibilities. Currently he is also the COO and Director of an established regional construction firm and a member of the Construction Financial Management Association. He has also been the President and Director of an industry leading multinational telecom services company, a founder of a software company and the owner/Director of two different manufacturing companies. Steve sits on the Board of private companies and foundations, is a regular speaker at roundtables and national seminars on family business issues and mergers and acquisitions and contributes to business periodicals. He also is on the Advisory Board of the Business School of California State University Channel Islands. In addition, Steve has taught MBA level courses on Management and Finance, has been a moderator for the White House Conference On Small Business and has led a series of conferences on business succession issues for the California CPA Education Foundation. His educational background includes a BA (Economics) from Claremont McKenna College; a MBA (Finance) from California Lutheran University; and certification from the Managerial Policy Institute at the University of Southern California. |
