Ms. Nelson is of counsel at Carrington Coleman. She practices in the areas of business litigation and appellate law, including commercial disputes, professional liability, fiduciary obligations, and insurance coverage litigation. s. Nelson attended the University of Texas and earned her B.A. in 1991. She attended Baylor University School of Law and earned her J.D., cum laude, in 1997. While at Baylor, Ms. Nelson was Managing Editor of the Baylor Law Review, a member of the Baylor Moot Court Team and National Order of Barristers. In 1997, she received the President's Award as the law school's outstanding student. Ms. Nelson is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. She is currently the Immediate-Past President of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and was named "Director of the Year" in December 2000. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Bar Association and was an Advisory Director in 2003. She is a trustee and former Chair of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation, and is a fellow of the DBA Foundation and the DAYL Foundation. From 2004 through 2007, Ms. Nelson has been named by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Rising Star" in Texas law. |
