Stephanie Kaye Baron is an associate in the firm's Baltimore office. She advises and represents management in various employment law matters, including drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants and other non-competition agreements, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour issues, unemployment, defamation and other employment torts. Ms. Baron also counsels employers in the areas of human resource management, personnel practices and policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, FLSA and wage payment compliance, background and reference checks, severance arrangements, ADA and FMLA compliance, Equal Pay Act analysis, sexual harassment and discrimination investigations, and other sensitive issues. Ms. Baron’s practice further includes matters involving FHA and ADA accommodation claims. During law school, Ms. Baron worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan K. Gauvey, U.S. Magistrate Judge, District Court, Maryland, and the Honorable Diana Gribbon Motz, Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Ms. Baron graduated with Honors from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Maryland Law Review. During the summers of 2001 and 2002, Ms. Baron worked as a summer associate with Miles & Stockbridge. Before joining Miles & Stockbridge as an associate, Ms. Baron served as a law clerk for the Honorable James R. Eyler, Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.
