Sriram Vemuri, Ph.D. has served as Senior Vice President, Product Development and Manufacturing of SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since February 2006. Previously, Dr. Vemuri was Vice President, Product Development and Manufacturing since joining SciClone in August 1998. With more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Vemuri has been responsible for filing the CMC sections for several NDAs. At SciClone, Dr. Vemuri is responsible for the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), drug products, quality control and directing activities related to chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC). Prior to joining SciClone, Dr. Vemuri worked at Scios, Inc. from 1991 to 1998 as a Department Head responsible for formulation development and the manufacturing of recombinant protein and peptide formulations. From 1989 to 1991, he worked at Cetus Corporation as a Scientist and Technical Liaison between the Manufacturing and Process Development Departments. From 1986 to 1989, he worked at Cooper Biomedical and was in charge of the Formulation Development Laboratory which developed new technologies for manufacturing liposomes. Dr. Vemuri earned his graduate degrees in Applied Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Rhode Island and Purdue University. |
