Mr. Mathes was recently appointed to HTH Worldwide’s Board of Directors by Securitas Capital, L.L.C. He began his career in 1959, at the National Industrial Conference Board. He joined New York Securities Co. in 1968, and later became its President. From 1975 to 1980, Mr. Mathes was the Head of Investment Banking for Moseley, Hallgarten & Estabrook.
From 1980 to 1991, Mr. Mathes served at Merrill Lynch and a well-known predecessor firm, Warburg Paribas Becker, as Managing Director and head of the firm’s Emerging Growth Companies and Technology Investment Banking Group, and was also the Chairman of Merrill Lynch Venture Capital.
From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Mathes was the Head of Corporate Finance for Prudential Securities. From 1995 to 1997, he was President and CEO of Clariden Asset Management (New York), a member of the Credit Suisse Group.
Mr. Mathes established The Mathes Company in 1997 as an investment advisor registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Mathes is currently or has been a Director of a number of corporations, including Swiss Re Private Equity Advisors and Swiss Re Private Equity MGP, Securitas Capital, L.L.C., Fox-Pitt, Kelton Group Limited, Whatman plc, Starrett Housing Corporation, BIW Cable Company, Novametrix Medical Systems, Gulf Republic Financial Corp. and Potomac Homes Holding Corporation.
Mr. Mathes received a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia University. |
