Sophie Fallou was appointed vice president, Strategy and Portfolio at Shell Global Solutions in 1st July 2007.
Sophie graduated in 1983 from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees, France with an MSc in Civil Engineering, and later with a PhD in Civil Engineering from MIT, USA. She has also achieved an MBA from Melbourne University, Australia.
In 1987, Sophie started her first role at Shell as a research mathematician in what is now Shell Research Technology Centre, Amsterdam. After a few years she became business analyst for the Far East and South Asia at Shell International Gas.
In May 1991, Sophie moved to Shell Development Australia as Gas Planning manager, before becoming LNG manager, representing Shell on the North West Shelf Project.
She returned to Shell International Gas in 1994 as a business development adviser, leading teams for various projects in South America, before moving to Shell Brazil as project manager for Shell’s acquisition of Comgas.
After a couple of years as marketing director for Coral Energy, Sophie rejoined Shell International Gas as business development manager for Mexico, developing a strategy study to identify gas and power opportunities in the country and thereafter leading the Baja LNG terminal Project.
Sophie then led the integrated EP/GP Gassi Touil LNG project in Algeria. Prior to her latest role at Shell Global Solutions, Sophie was portfolio manager for Shell Europe Oil Products where she managed various divestments activities. |
