Sigmund G. Ginsburg joined DHR International in January, 2003 as Executive Vice President and Director, Nonprofit Practice in New York City. Throughout his career he has been involved in conducting executive searches, chairing and serving on search committees, and hiring search firms. Prior to joining DHR, Mr. Ginsburg served at the American Museum of Natural History as Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Development from April, 1995 to December, 2002 and also served as Projective Executive for the Rose Center for Earth and Space Project, 1995-2000. He joined the Museum on December 1, 1994 as Vice President for Business Development. He had previously served as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Barnard College (1984-1994), Vice President for Finance and Treasurer of the University of Cincinnati (1978-1984), and as Vice President for Administration and Planning and Treasurer of Adelphi University (1972-1978). He was Assistant City Administrator in the Office of the Mayor, City of New York (1967-1972) and was awarded the City of New York Merit Award in 1969. He was Founder and Director of the New York Urban Fellowship Program (1969-1972), and served as Senior Management Consultant and Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor in the Office of the Mayor (1966-1967). Mr. Ginsburg taught primarily graduate courses in management from 1967-1995 at Baruch College and John Jay College of City University of New York, Adelphi University, the University of Cincinnati where he was Adjunct Professor of Business Administration and Adjunct Professor of Higher Education Administration, The New School University, and Fordham University. He has also lectured widely and consulted. Mr. Ginsburg is the author of: Managing with Passion: Making the Most of Your Job and Your Life; Ropes for Management Success: Climb Higher, Faster; Management: An Executive Perspective; coauthor of Managing the Higher Education Enterprise and editor of Paving the Way for the 21st Century: The Human Factor in Higher Education Financial Management. He is the author of the chapter Human Resources Management and Employee Relations in College and University Business Administration, Fifth Edition, as well as 130 articles and book chapters dealing with general, financial, human resources, higher education, and public management. His articles have appeared in The Public Interest, Columbia Journal of World Business, Public Administration Review, Business Officer, Educational Record, Inc., Glamour, Management Review, Personnel, The President, AAHE Bulletin, Trusteeship, and The Urban Lawyer. He served as a member of: the Advisory Council of TIAA-CREF, 1993-1996 (Chairman 1994-1995), and the Board of Directors of Greenwich House, 1994-1997. He is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, did graduate work at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and was a Littauer Fellow at Harvard University, where he earned a MPA. Mr. Ginsburg received the Neal O. Hines Publications Award in 1992 from the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the first Award for Distinguished Service to the New York City Urban Fellows Program in 1994.
