Sherwood H. Smith currently serves on the boards of Wachovia Corporation, Northern Telecom, Springs Industries, Northwestern Mutual Life, Triangle Universities Center for Advanced Studies (Chairman), and Research Triangle Foundation (Vice Chairman). Smith was CEO of CPLC from 1979 to 1996, General Counsel for CPLC, and was a practicing attorney in Charlotte and Raleigh for five years.
