Shasta is a member of the firm's public contract and construction and public law groups. She brings a wide range of public law, real estate and land use experience, to the firm, such as preparing contracts, ordinances, resolutions and reports. Her experience with handling real estate issues also includes inverse condemnation, liens, assessments, public construction contracts and redevelopment. In her current practice, Shasta handles all areas of municipal law and provides focused analysis for public trust questions, boundary disputes, quiet title actions and other real property questions.Prior to joining Meyers Nave, Shasta was a boundary determination officer for the State Land Commission. As a boundary determination officer, she prepared boundary descriptions of public trust lands, researched and investigated historic and current tideland, lake and river characteristics and prepared chain of title and boundary analyses reports. She was also involved with various public trust land negotiations, boundary line agreements and leases.In addition to practicing law, Shasta is a California licensed land surveyor, PLS # 7446. She has more than ten years of experience in land surveying, much of it focused on complicated land title and boundary resolution projects.Shasta received her J.D. from UC Berkeley, Boalt Hall, with the Order of the Coif. She also received American Jurisprudence Awards in Construction Law and Corporations and Prosser Prizes for Real Estate Transactions and Water Law. Shasta received her Bachelor of Science degree in Survey Engineering, summa cum laude, from California State University, Fresno. |
