Dr. Kagan, senior associate at Yale's Bush Center in Child Development and Social Policy, is recognized nationally and internationally for her work related to the care and education of young children and their families. A frequent consultant to the White House, Congress, the National Governors' Association, the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, and numerous national foundations, corporations, and professional associations, Dr. Kagan plays a leadership role in the early childhood field. She is a governing board member of NAEYC, the president-elect of the Family Resource Coalition and vice president of the Institute for Responsive Education. Dr. Kagan's current writings and work explore the preparation and assessment of young children for school, the facilitation of home-school transitions for children and families, and the preparation of teachers and schools for the effective involvement of young children and their parents. |
